I went back on the 16th with a little heavier gear to see about getting that cute little x-rap back (and as an excuse to visit again). Crystal clear skies, water running several inches lower and a little clearer - not ideal conditions. 4 people fishing, only a fish or two between them.

I made a bunch of throws with a little george tail spinner on 30lb braid, alternating between real fishing and dragging the bottom for treasure. No fish, but I did hook up with my target, and a bonus crankbait that it was tangled up with in a wad of line.

Before leaving I made a small effort at cleaning up the area where I was standing. Wadded up all the line within a 10' radius. Easily a hundred yards just within reach. One string led to the water and up came a like-new rooster tail to add to today's collection.

So day 2 was a bit more of a scavenger hunt than a catch-fest, but even a mediocre plan executed is worth two plans dreamed about from the cubicle at work..

Got it! And a bonus that it was caught up with. Good excuse to make a few casts. No fish today, though - river was down several inches from yesterday, running a little clearer and we had the high skies. Nobody else caught anything in the short time I was there this morning. Left camera in the truck, so I'll update the blog post later.
