Now, if we could get the other close to shore forage fish populations up I believe the piers would thrive again. More people are starting to get their fish off and back into the ocean which helps alot. I have nothing against releasing a fish into the grease or kill for the grill. I hate it when I see the tossed on the deck to die needlessly. I did my share of that early on but not very often with desireable fish. Now I'm more inclned to release stuff I could potentially use for bait. (you only need so much) I figure if everybody looked at the ocean as a bank and the fish as money..... nah forget it we are Americans. We don't do anything like that until it is too late. We certainly don't have a good track record with saving money either.
