Default A Pleasant Day On The Water

I took my boat to Drum Inlet July 4th and returned faster than I got there. I've never seen so many boats competing for so little available fishing waters. If that was their pleasure I wonder what they do for misery. It made me really appreciate today.

I woke up this morning and the wind chimes were silent. Today is the day. Kayak is already in the pickup. I grabbed the 8ft. Fenwick #7 and headed out. Casually paddled out to a slough, the water is slick, three fast flicks and drop the fly, a big swirl and water sprays from the fly line-HELLO MR.SPECKLED TROUT. I only caught 4 trout several small blues. No blitz, just a pleasant day on the water.

Caught them on one of my tied flashy minnows made from synthetic blonde ladies wig hair, black polyester rug weaving yarn, silver flash, peacock herl, 3d eyes glued on with a mixture of hot glue and sand using Mustad size 1 short shank hook.( small but deadly )
