 The Most Expensive Catfish
One afternoon me and one of my buddies were fishing for catfish and werent having much luck. All of a sudden my friend hooked up on a decent size catfish that he was having trouble with on 6 lb. line. I reeled my line in seemingly all the way and layed it across my chair so that I could help him get the fish in, and probably three seconds after I set it down a catfish grabbed my bait that was sitting half out of the water. I realized what was happening and tried to grab the rod but the catfish was too fast and it was gone before I had a chance to do anything. So besides losing the catfish I lost an All Star rod and an Ambassadeur series Abu Garcia Reel. The worst part came later when I had to endure the embarrasment of explaining this to my grandfather who had just recently given me the rod and reel as a gift. |
