Visited my sister on this week in Monks Corner S.C. and fished the Cooper River at Pimplico Thursday for pan fish. Put our 14 ft Jon Boat in at 7:30 am, fished creeks and banks untill noon and had caught one keeper brim. When just about ready to call it a poor day and head home we saw two boats anchored on the side of a bank and watched a few minutes and they were catching large shellcracker at a rapid rate. I guess they felt sorry for us as they were kind enough to invite us to join the shellcracker bed they were on. I have never had such fun fishing as we caught 21 nice, one to two pound shellcracker in just 2 hours. They bent the tip of my brim buster back to the handle on some of the catches. We had the fish cleaned and in the frying pan by 6:00 pm and this was truly a day to remember. Great fishing, great fellowship with my brother-in-law and great tasting fresh fish for a great feast. This was what fishing is all about.
