just got back from vacation at st simons island. some great marsh there, and i collected some great info about kayak fishing the area while down there. Georgia Kayak Fishing includes a lot of info from that area. i fished at Village Creek (launch from end of S. Harrington Rd, St. Simons) at the north end of SSI. bad tides this past week, some of the most extreme i've ever seen. not even the locals were catching much. water was extremely muddy. saw bait everywhere, tho -- in some creeks the shrimp were so thick it sounded like rain whenever the shrimp would cascade out of the water. did have one good day when i found fish feeding on shrimp in a tidal creek at low tide. managed at least 6 specks, a small red and a 5lb+ saltwater catfish -- i just knew it was a nice drum until i got him to the boat! could have caught a lot more, but was a long way from the launch area and had to start back.

just FYI in case others find themselves in that area,
