Default Anadromous Fisherman/Hello Everybody

My grandmother introduced me to fishing 40 +/- years ago. A farm pond dug with a drag-line. This pond was my grandparents pride and joy. Got turned on too saltwater fishing in 1980. Hatteras was my first trip. Bluefish blitz kept breaking off my line.My experienced friends just laughed while I learned how to rig a steel leader. When one finally smoked my 12lb. outfit, I was crossd over half a dozen other lines and got spooled. Hey, at least it didn't break my leader Since then the learning process has continued. My fovorite style of fishing is topwater. Having an above slot size redfish hit my balsa wood floater on a 6lb. line and hooking up gives me goosebumps just writing about it. Over the last 15 years, Oak Island has been my place to fish. Only get to come down 3-5 weeks out of a year. From Lockwood Folly up the ICW to Cape Fear River and back down the coast line along Long Island is my domain. My favorite place to fish is the Elizabeth River area. Thanks for having me & hopefully I can post a good report around Thanksgiving, coming down to do some inshore fishing with some college freshman. Thanks, GDS
