Finally an Offshore Report! (Fight N Lady) Well I have had just about enough of the Boatward mess I could stand. We have waxed, sanded, painted, sanded, cleaned & did I mention sanded until I could not take it anymore but it is over & we had our first trip today. I must say I was rather suprised with the bites today first thing I went ahead & bit the bullet & headed WAY south down to the 300 line & fished my way North all day long. It was kinda slow at first but the further North we got the better the bait was marking & finaly the Tunas struck us with a couple of bites & then a Mahi after that it was slow for a while & then I saw the June shadow behind my Right Short & thought to my self no way so I kept quite & then he popped up on the left & sure enough it was him the elusive Blue Marlin! Well he just kept following us for about 3 minutes he never did get realy excited & lit up no matter what we did then he vanished & pops up again behind the other short finaly Ryan aggravated him enough to bite it was exciting for a minute but we pulled him off. He was a small fish but it was still a Blue Marlin in Feb. only in Carolina! Well after all the excitment wore down from everyone out of the blue we get a TRIPLE header Yellowfin bite & then a while later a nice Wahoo. Most of everything was caught Blue & White BWC up close except for the Wahoo he came down the right side of the spread & started chewing mono until he came to my bridge pole then the rest of the story is on someones grill tonight. Pics to come later. Man it feels good to get back to the Bluewater again! |
