Cool Kings for a Day

Man oh man did I have a blast on Sunday 3/2/2008. I had an invitation to go outside with the Midnight Wind and his son John out of Wilmington. I showed up at his house about 5:30 sunday morning and was raring to go. We looked at the temp maps and plotted a course for kings and then for some bottom fishing areas.

Pulled out and headed out for 29 miles or so. Stuck out 4 lines, 2 on outriggers, 1 top line and 1 top line weighted. Pulled for a little while and buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz went the clicker and fish-on. My fish King, it went on like that for the rest of the day.

Right after lunch time we checked to see how many fish we had, 8 was the number. So we need 1 more to make a limit. Stuck out a top line and 2 downriggers. trolled back over the hot spot and rod 1, buzzzzzzzzzzzz, rod 2 buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, and man look rod 3 buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, it was on, a triple.

What a blast and who could ask for anything greater on there first King trip. We landed 2 of the 3 fish and kept one of these for our limit of 9.

Man what a blast, I have to congratulate Midnight and his boy John for a fantastic day on the water.
