greetings from goldsboro, i'd like to submit my first post by inquiring how the shad fishing is around pitchkettle, kinston, and smithfield. i'm getting hit and miss days here and are wondering if the shad fishing here is winding down or just starting. last tuesday on the little river at cherry hospital, there was an unusually large number of white shad caught there. i landed a five pounder on my flyrod that same day but have not had a strike since. i heard of some caught at mill creek which is 20 miles or so towards smithfield but haven't heard of anybody really catching any in nice numbers. |
