Default Kerr, 4/18 & 4/19

Fished for crappie on Kerr this weekend. Started with a couple of hours of fishing on Friday after work, then finished with a morning trip today.

Fished the same cove I went to last weekend. Caught 2 half-pounders last night and about 8 small ones today (plus a scrappy little bass). Caught them in 2-5 feet of water using live minnows.

In spite of the fact that there was tons of brush (logs, willows, etc.) throughout the back of the cove, it was challenging to find the crappie. Once I caught one, I could normally catch another 4 or 5 from the same spot. Seems like you have to put the bait right in front of their noses. Morning bite has been better.

Lots of bass anglers around for tournaments. Water is down a tad and Flemingtown landing is a bit easier to manage (i.e. docks are above water).
