Default New River 4/24

We took a short float trip from just below where the north and south forks meet down to the public boat landing at Mouth of Wilson yesterday.

The Smallmouth we not hitting great but we caught around two dozen between the two of us, three of them were 14-16” with about half of the rest 10-12” and the other half smaller.

Most of the fish were caught on white curly tail grubs with two of the three larger one being caught on a purple fire tail worm. A few were also caught on a crawfish plug. All Smallmouths were released to bite another day.

I expect the fishing only to get better as the water warms…..

Good Luck and Take Care,
