Skunko for me today. Drifted minnows and night crawlers from above Satterwhite to below it, was probably in water too deep for my baits to reach any fish (35'-50').
Gave that up after about 11:30 and switched over to trolling for a bit. Lost one on the bottom and wrapped my prop with fish line, but looks like I got it all off. Continued to troll a bit longer, then hauled it all in and made two speed runs to blow out the carbon (plus it was fun after drifting and trolling all day).
Ran into Fisherjon at the ramps about 1:30 and chatted for a bit, gave him the rest of my bait to try again later as I packed up and headed home.
I just gave pretty much this report to a buddy of mine that fished a bass tournament at Jordan yesterday. He did not seem too surprised, says that no one in that tourney caught a keeper to weigh. Maybe this messed up weather (sounds like a good excuse anyway).
Anyway, good to run into another member and to get on the water. |
