Default 100 mph winds in May? Grief!

I've been parousing the weather history for Atlantic beach and surrounding areas, and found a history for May 2002 reporting winds of 90-100+ mph. (scroll down under the daily numbers to see the monthly stuff)

Weather Station History : Weather Underground

I'm assuming that either 1) that is a typo or mechanical goof (I have seen the weather channel current temp to say 65,000F before), or 2) there was a freakishly early tropical system or even perhaps a Nor'easter?

I did some research on the internet and can find NOTHING about that date-- no tropical systems at that time.

Not that this matters, I just found it weird. We are coming fishing on May 31st and I figured checking the weather history for that day might give me some confidence that weather will be nice, but man was this a surprise!

Oh, and I just noticed, there was also over 100 inches of rain that month. I have a feeling this is just a goof. But a good one!
