Default Black River 5/18

Decided to hit Black River with a friend this morning for some pan fishing. We put in at Henry's landing off hwy 210 this morning around 7am. The water is still out the banks and most of the fish it seems are out in the trees. We caught quite a few shellcrackers and breams but the wind got up around 10am and that kind of killed it for us. We fished a few spots that were calm in the coves but finally got tired of getting blew around and gave up. We ended up with around 20 keepers. we got 3 shellcrackers that were over 2 pounds and a bream that was probably a little more than 1 pound 3/4oz. I think we could have done better if we'd been on the water a little earlier but it was all good. You got to love catching those hugh shellcrackers. If anyone decide to go becareful the snakes are laid up everywhere. I trolled under a tree fishing and seen one laying out on a branch and tried to back up and ended turning my trolling motor the wrong way and ran right up in there with him....lol
