Default Fishing help needed at Harris Lake

Hey guys, been doing some fishing at harris lake and have had little to no luck so far. I admit i am a novice fishermen especially when it comes to lures.

so far the only luck i have had at all is with a simple cricket and bobber set up and ome crickets and minnows on the bottom. cathcing bream

I have tried fishing in the fingers of the lake with spinner baits, jigs etc.

I have tried mini strike kings, minnow spinners, and jigs I tried had red heads with white or yellow tails.

maybe i am going wrong with presentation, rigging, or location, like i said I have been fishing the fingers in the grassy areas (even tho most of the grassy areas are very shallow)

I would love to be able to hook some decent Bass or some success with crappie would be ok, ran into a guide out there saturday night said he had caught boo coos of crappie with a jig in brush piles.

any help guys would be greatly appreciated
