Default Just sharing a techniqe

I suppose anyone who has read any of my posts know that I am an avid Buzzbait advocate, maybe even a fanatic. You also know that to be really effective with them you have to modify them with any of the modifications i have learned over 25 + years of using them. HOWEVER.....
If you want to just by one straight out of the package and fish it. The following has proved to be very successful this week yeilding 9 big bass including 4 largemouth and 5 spotted within just about an hours time fishing. So here goes:
Use the buzzbait to locate the fish. Casting far and accurately with each cast being just a step away from the other using a sweeping motion. Some of your strikes will end up in hookups but usually only about 50% of the strikes on an unmodified buzz will result in hookups. If you get a short strike, drop your rod and immediately use a follow up cast with a soft plastic like a salty superfluke. My results with this was an immediate strike right where the last bait was short striked. It worked 100% of the time right after a shortstrike. Of those bass caught that day, 50% were on the buzz .. the other percent were caught on the follow up cast with the soft plastic. The reason in my opinion for this working is that the noise and the action of the buzz generate many strikes, however the soft plastic has taste and texture which causes the bass to hold it longer. other info: during this "experiment" the water was about 80 degree and the air temp was right at 90. water was clear, wind was just calm enough to make small ripples in the water.buzz was 1/4 oz black, fluke was white pearl. I dont know if this will always work. I know it did for me. Good luck, happy angling!!!!!
