Atlantic Beach area fishing

I am going to Atlantic Beach next Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. I will be looking to surf/pier fish. What should I expect to fish for and what rigs should I use. I am not anywhere near an expert at coast fishing although I do love to to surfcast and pier fish. I have almost any rod and reel combo's imaginable, but being a bass fisherman I do love my baitcaster. I wish to pack light and want to cary the basics and not much more.
Anybody got any advice for a good ole country boy??????
