Surf Fishing this Friday...any suggestions

Me and a coworker are going to try surf fishing for the first time this Friday. Does anyone of you have any suggestions on a place to go within 2 hours or so of Fayetteville. Also, any pointers on bait, tackle and rigs would be greatly appreciated.
