Well, it is that time of year down in Florida where the tarpon are just off the beaches on the west coast. What I consider to be crazy, yet brave anglers target them from kayaks. And they are out in full force now. Using DOA Baitbusters mostly, some using live bait....but battling the silver king is a huge rush for those who pursue them. I attached a couple of photos of friends of mine from this year so far....

With sharks willing to take a 100 + lb fish from you during a battle, I have alway shyed away from it but I do attempt each year to target some of the smaller tarpon when they come into the rivers or back bays. Only hooked one over the years. But have seen others.

But what about in NC? I have read about tarpon in the rivers and sounds here as well. Does anyone fish for them from kayaks?
