Went out for the first trip ever to this particular river. It was a decent drive from Wilmington about an hour and twenty minutes. It is one sweet looking place. Got a lot of wood cover and some docks as well. The water is a little low right now but the fishing was still alright. We got to fish a little in between lightning storms

We ended up getting a couple of bass on a spook, which were the healthiest bass I've seen here in Eastern NC. real chunks. Got a few hits after the storms came through and I hooked a big fish, probably a bowfin and Jason caught a bowfin on a crankbait. Not too bad for the first trip. We're definitely going back and I'm certainly going to give catfishing a shot out there, it looks real good. Also, the ramp is one of the best freshwater ramps that I've used in the eastern part of the state.
