well folks,it was up at four and heading up to mountains near sparta and independence again for another crack at those smallmouth i love so well!my son and i got on the river about seven, and started throwing our plastics,he threw pumpkin zoom finesse worms, and i stayed with the kinami/yamamoto cut tail worm in camo color.it was slow at first, the river was down a little from last time, but around nine thirty we got on 'em.we had to wade a bit more than we normally do,because some of my favorite spots were not holding fish,i guess because of the water depth. but when we found them, they bit pretty well, although not as well as my other trips this year.we caught 45 smallies, biggest a three pounder, and around 15 rock bass.my son hung a small muskie but it jumped and bit through his line.maybe a 5 pounder or so. anyway, not a bad day,but i believe we coulda done better with a little more water.
good fishin'
