Well just got back home from our trip to emerald isle for our shark fishing trip. not a very eventful trip. we got there thursday and fished on the BIP some for bait. bout 1am friday i hooked into that huge skate while shark fishing. it weighed over 100lbs and is is bout 4.5' wide. took almost an hour to get him in. definitely a good fight but NOT a shark
the rest of the weekend has been nasty. a low pressure system rolled in friday mid afternoon. no one was catchin anything on the surf or BIP. we were using shrimp on our bait rods and fresh menhaden on the shark rigs. caught one small shark bout 2 ft long. we left early because the rain had set in today....
talked with some other guys down there that had been shark fishing for the past 4 days and they hadnt had one hook up. better luck next time.
