 The Best Thing about Fishin!!
The Cumberland County chapter of Ducks Unlimited held it's annual Greenwing Event this past weekend at the new John E. Pechmann Fishing Education Center in Fayettville. We had 483 kids turn out on Sunday for an afternoon of fishing in the stocked ponds. Each kid received a Shakespeare Rod & Reel Combo, Hat, T-shirt, Bait and tackle. Also, they will receive a membership in DU's Greenwing club. We also served over 800 Hot Dogs. The proceeds helped pay for a free event that DU put on for 40 Kids from the Falcon Children's home on Saturday. Lots of smiles to go around from kids, Moms, and Dads. |
