F.A.A.N. monthly meeting from 9-3-08

We held our monthly FAAN meeting this past Thursday night at Sammios on Raeford Road. Big Osh had arranged for Joe Heisinger, the Biologist for the Fort Bragg Fisheries Management to be present. Joe discussed the various lakes on Fort Bragg, which ones are stocked with what and which ones produce the best. I was surprised to hear that Mott Lake, the largest on Bragg has a fish population shortage and one might want to forgo fishing at Mott until the population grows. As Joe's department at Bragg is personnel thin, several FAAN members volunteered to assist when and where possible with all the neat things a fishing Biologist does.

We had 11 or 12 members present, had great fellowship and shared fishing stories and good information. We briefly discussed a coastal fishing/camping weekend for October 24 and 25 so more on that to follow. Our next meeting will be the first Thursday in October.
