Yesterday I launched around 4 with some threatening weather skirting by. I really wanted to venture to a spot I had in mind for flounder, but with being on the edge of a storm, I decided to hang not far from the boat ramp. So I went over to a sandbar that seamed like it should hold flounder, especially on the outgoing tide. ˝ hour later I had caught 3 flounder (13", 16" & 18"). The only flounder picture I took was the 16"r. Then the bottom fell out but it looked like it wouldn’t last long so I bee-lined it back to the ramp where I sat in my truck for 10 minutes then the rain stopped. Went back to the same area and couldn’t get anymore bites so I changed gears and picked up some bait. Took the bait into my drum spot and the wind was now dead. Threw topwater for about 45 minutes and had one fish blow up on it right by the kayak. I didn’t know what to do for it came at the bait twice but I had no more room to "walk the dog". Made my way around a corner, anchored and not long after I saw 2 drum tailing. Thought about throwing topwater at them but figured they were eating on the bottom and since I had already replaced my Gulp w/ a live bait rig I tossed a mullet there and within 15 seconds a drum hit it and I landed a 20" drum. Little while later I landed a 21" drum and came in not long after that. Good afternoon for sure!
