advice for a newbie

long time angler here and want to expand to kayak fishing.
sometimes in small lakes but mostly tidal creeks and bays .
I do have some canoing and kayak experience long ago in whitewater.
(so long ago they may have been hollowed out logs)
I don't want to start out at this by spending a fortune.
am currently considering ocean kayaks scrambler xt angler for the price.
I am not very knowledgable about the various manufacturers and would
love some imput from you guys.
keep in mind that real long touring trips are not on my agenda.
I live in Moore county and would love to meet some yakkers if any of
ya'll are around.
