I'm not a kayak fisherman - I regularly fish from a Sundance skiff, but my other hobby is wildlife photography.

I am thinking about buying a small kayak since I would like to get out in the creeks and lakes on photo expeditions. I would not be in the ocean or sounds - usually fairly flat, skinny water.

Since I am carrying some very expensive equipment, I want to be able to keep it safe and dry. Am looking for suggestions as to what to buy. Budget is definitely a consideration since I already have so much invested in my other boat and cameras, lenses, etc.

I appreciate any guidance from experienced kayakers.
