jacksonville area catfish

Hey guys I am based out of lejeune and don't have a boat so I try to do as much fishing from shore as I can. I was wondering if there are any good catfish spots around here to fish. I have fished a time or two on the new river by the bridge where 24 crosses and also where marine blvd crosses over and without any luck. I have fished a couple ponds on base one day but was going for bass that day. Is there any decent sized cats on base too? Any help would be great from you guys.
