Kerr lake catfish

Hello everyone , I am new to this site and only been catfishin bout 3 years. I only catfish in the winter for big blues on kerr lake. We are having our 2nd annual "ICEBOWL" catfish tournament at kerr lake out of Occanneechee State park on Jan.23rd. I am from N.C. and VA beat us by over 100lbs last year. I am new at it but what I have done to catch mine is find some shad close to a creek or river channel----anchor----cut up crappie fillets and bottom fish. Good fishin to all!!!rookie
