Default french broad at sandy bottoms

fished the french broad at sandy bottoms, right off the B.R. parkway this evening. water was low but fishable.caught a couple of smallmouths when the sun set, used some darters tied by ccobb. didn't have the usual hatch of floaters and kayakers, so the solitude was welcome. there is normally a muskie hiding behind the large logjam near the bridge, but he has probably found a deeper, cooler hole. not a bad thought since the temps have seldom left the high 80's in more than a month'
