Default menhaden matter

I posted a suggestion about protecting menhaden in the wrong forum and ask you to see it in the saltwater report forum. Sorry for posting in the wrong location. You can see that I have now moved my soapbox to the correct location.
For many years, the number of seabirds on Lake Norman has been increasing. My uncle has always said they are coming due to reduced forage at the coast especially in the NC sounds and Chesapeake Bay. I think he is right. Now some of the gulls are staying all summer. I think we need to protect the menhaden so these birds do not have to consume forage from inland impoundments and the Bojangles parking lot. They should have plenty to eat in their native environs. Besides, chicken biscuits and french fries don't go with threadfin shad.
