| Just back in and got all the gear cleaned up. Left out of the Albemarle Plant boat ramp at about 9 and fished until about 4. Fishing was slow today. We didnt see anyone boat anything that looked larger than 20". Lots of empty coolers coming back to the dock. Man at the dock weighting fish said that as of 4-4:30 pm today our fish was the biggest he had seen and checked. Well we managed to catch about 15-18 and boated 5 for dinner tonite, the biggest coming in at 24 or 25". Pretty much a majority of the fish were caught on the attached pictures of the stretch lures. This color has been pretty productive. The picture of the chart. creation is something that I whipped up this week and it is also what got our big fish today about 5mins after dropping it down with a 3oz trolling sinker. It has a 6" shad body on it. What do you guys think? Total weight of it is about 3oz and i am going to be making a big batch of them to use on the long legs of my striper tandem rigs for trophy season in VA Beach. Looks good in the water. Was a nice day out there. Lots of boats fishing the Columbia tournament. I kinda wish i would have fished it now but my team just didnt come together. We fished the Sound Bridge first and then crossed over to the powerlines where we got our BIG fish then went west of the powerlines and turned back and went back to the Sound Bridge. Lots of bird activity but not toooo organized. I think there are still some nice fish out there but all the boat pressure this weekend has the fish scattered. Hope this helps you all out some.
