Default getting started for stripers?

Hey whats up all? I moved here from so cal about a year ago and Im really starting to miss saltwater fishing...I here its almost time for big strippers to start biting and im curious on what type outfit is ideal for strippers and any pointers in getting started this time of year? Bill.
