| I've been thinking of making a trip from Durham to do some inshore fishing in one of the NC sounds but I'm not sure that I'm outfitted correctly and don't want to get myself in trouble. I've got a 14' Lund (v-hull, not flat bottom), with a 15 horse. I don't have any lights on the boat, or GPS, or radio. I do have a trolling motor and depth finder and of course allways bring my cell. All of my fishing to date has been in Jordan Lake and I made a couple of trips to the Roanoke this spring. I have however used the boat many times up on Lake Ontario, so I'm not new to bigger waters. Having never fished in any of the sounds or river mouths before I'm not sure if I would just be getting myself in trouble or not. Can any one offer some advice? Reading all the reports about catching drums and trout and potentially better fishing in the fall has made me jealous. Thanks again for any insight |
