| Fished the Pungo River area this morning from 6:30 until about 11:30. Caught 10 nice Trout from 16" to 21" (and enough 12" to 15" to have filled a couple more limits) along with a few undersized Puppy Drum, Flounder and Rock. 4 (all 4 over 18") of the 5 largest Trout were caught between 6:30 and 7:15 on top water, the rest were caught on a mix of Bubble Gum (Pink) - Troutkillers, Nautral Ice - Finn-S, and Chartuese Glitter - Little Fish. The fish seemed to be shallow / against the bank early and then deeper off the bank after the sun got high and hot. The water temperture has dropped about 8 degrees since the NE blow earlier this week and the fish really seemed to respond. The fish also are starting to get aggressive and really attacting the baits. Sorry, but my camera has gotten messed up and is not working. Everone should be getting ready for a great fall of trout fishing!!! |
