| North Carolina Angler forum posts are now available via RSS/XML Internet feeds. This allows you to view newly created threads in guest viewable forums without visiting the board. If you haven't discovered RSS (Really Simple Syndication) then you should check it out. There are a number of ways to access RSS feeds from Internet websites. You can install a news reader that displays RSS feeds from the Web sites you subscribe to, enabling you to potentially view hundreds of headlines at once. After choosing and installing a news reader, you simply add each feed manually from the web sites you are interested in by clicking on the "Subscribe" or the orange "XML" button usually found next to the feed link. When something new is added to that website RSS news feed it will automatically load into your RSS news reader when you're online. You can quickly browse the new items then select the ones you're interested in and quickly link directly to that item on the NCangler.com site! You can add the code below to an external XML or RSS reader program of your choosing. If you have an external reader adding our XML feed may be as simple as clicking and dragging the orange XML icon on our home page to your reader. The feeds are currently provided in two formats, RSS and RSS v2. The differences are as follows: RSS 0.91 - This feed is based on a standard written by netscape and provides a link and the title of the thread. NCangler.com RSS 0.91 feed www.ncangler.com/forums/external.php?type=rss RSS 2.0 - This feed contains title, author, date and the contents of the first post of the thread. NCangler.com RSS 2.0 newsfeed www.ncangler.com/forums/external.php?type=rss2 An alternative to downloading a dedicated news reader is to use a Web-based news reader. My Yahoo! users can now add RSS feeds directly to their personal page. To add the NCangler.com XML feed to MyYahoo click here: http://e.my.yahoo.com/config/promo_c....php?type=rss2. The forums to which this applies can also be limited to specific guest viewable forums by adding another paramater to the URL containing the forumids as follows: http://www.ncangler.com/forums/exter.../&forumids=123 If you would like the content to be generated for multiple forums you can separate the forumids by commas. You can find the forumid number by clicking on the forum you want to view and noting the forumid number listed in the browser navigation path. Enjoy!
