Question Back in the game

Hi All,

I just had to go through the process of figuring out my pass word and stuff like that. The system has told me my last visit was in September of 2005. My wife and I were fishing Kerr Lake a couple time each year, but this year we purchased a couple of lots in River Ridge at Lake Gaston.

We bought a new 21 ft. Tracker Fishing Barge last year and we just traded our 84 motor home in on a new 32 ft. travel trailer, which we parked at our lot. Our plans are to spend as many weekends as possible fishing.

Even though I grew up in Florida, I have found the techniques for fishing are a bit different here. I have had some luck with Bass, but can't seem to get a handle on Crappie, Blue Gill, and Shell Cracker. I know there is someone who can offer up some good advise. Right?

Where are some of the best places to fish at Gaston? What is the best way to catch Crappie? Do the Shad school in Gaston like they do at Kerr Lake? I haven't seen much of anyting in the way of good bait fish on Gaston.

I am also looking for a good chart of Lake Gaston. I was able to find a few different charts, but nothing that offers water depths and other good information. I picked up a "Fishing Hot Spots" chart, but it just doesn't tell me everything I am looking for. Any suggestions????

It feels good to be back on the site and I remember getting some good advise in the past from some of you. I eagerly await some help.
