Fishing Licenses

Hi all, fairly new here to the site and soon to be a Tarheel (projected end of September)

I know NC offers a lifetime license. However, when I am officially a resident, does this cover both fresh & saltwater?

I didn't get clear info from the government site. If anyone knows, I'd appreciate the heads up. Thanks
