New guy could use some help!

Hey Everyone!

My name is Brandon and I live in Louisville, KY. I will be visiting the Outer Banks in October for 9 days. While I'm down there I'd love to get some fishing done. I've read about cobia and would want to fish for them, but my friends down there (who don't fish ) say that people fish for blues around that time of year.

What I need is some help deciding what I should fish for and what type of equipment I should bring. Since I live in KY and do a lot of catfishing, I've got some pretty stout setups that might work, depending on what you guys say. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
