Visiting Angler from CT

New Out of State Member here. I am from SouthEastern, CT and will be spending a week on the outer banks starting August 19th. My trip is primarily going to be a reunion of sorts for myself and my friends, but I would like to sneak away and do some fishing while I am there.

Here in CT I am most familiar with catching Striped Bass, Bluefish, and Summer Flounder (Fluke). I'm hoping to find some light tackle opportunities as the space in my car for gear will be limited. I'd be happy getting a chance to catch a few Sea Trout, Redfish, or Flounder of any size.

We're going to be staying in the Whalehead/Corolla area and I would appreciate any suggestions for places someone could access on foot.

Also, are there any Fishing licenses I need to worry about getting? Up here we just have freshwater licenses, but they are required for saltwater species when fishing north of certain spots in the Estuaries and rivers near me.

Lastly, I'd be happy to return the favor for anyone looking for places up my way too.
