Mfc Inland Regional Advisory Committee 6/2/05

The Marine Fisheries Commission (MFC) Inland Regional Advisory Committee will meet on Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 6 p.m. at the Archdale Building Ground Floor Hearing Room, Raleigh, NC.

The Inland Regional Advisory Committee will review and discuss the Draft Striped Mullet Fishery Management Plan (FMP). The draft FMP has been prepared by the Division of Marine Fisheries, with the advice of the Striped Mullet FMP Advisory Committee. Discussion of the Stripped Mullet FMP began in May 2003. Management measures and the Draft Striped Mullet FMP will be reviewed by the MFC regional committees, and public meetings will be held in conjunction with the regional and Finfish Committee meetings to receive additional public input. This will be the last regional advisory committee meeting held to receive public input. The MFC plans to review the Draft Striped Mullet FMP at its June 28-29 meeting in Raleigh, NC.

The Inland Committee will get an update on recent legislation involving fisheries and will also receive an update on the rules to implement the Blue Crab and Southern Flounder FMPs.
