MFC SE Advisory Comm. mtg. 5/10/05

The Marine Fisheries Commission (MFC) Southeast Advisory Committee will meet on Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Wilmington Regional Office, located at 127 Cardinal Drive Extension in Wilmington, NC.

The committee will review and discuss the draft Striped Mullet Fishery Management (FMP). The Draft FMP has been prepared by the Division of Marine Fisheries (DMF) with the advice of the Striped Mullet FMP
Advisory Committee. Discussion of the FMP began in May 2003. Management measures and the Draft FMP will be reviewed by the MFC regional committees, and public meetings are being held in conjunction
with the regional and Finfish Committee meetings to receive additional public input. The MFC plans to review the FMP at its June 28-29 meeting in Raleigh, NC.

The committee will also receive a presentation on blue crab tagging programs in southeastern
North Carolina.
