Exclamation NCMFC Shellfish Advisory Comm. meeting

The next meeting of the Marine Fisheries Commission (MFC) Shellfish Advisory Committee will be held Monday, January 24, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the C-MAST Building, 303 College Circle, Room 305, Morehead City, NC.

The Committee will first receive comments on the Oyster FMP Amendment 2. This meeting will be one of three public meetings held to get additional input on the proposed Amendment. The other two meetings will be held on January 25 in Bayboro at the courthouse and January 27 in Swanquarter at the fire station. Those meetings begin at 7:00 p.m.

The Committee will receive a presentation from the Shellfish Sanitation Section on the 2004 shellfish closures in White Oak River and other areas.

Members of the Committee also requested that the rule requiring certification oysters from leases during the closed season (03K.0205) will be discussed.
