1st report of 2006-Current Adventure Charters

Happy New Year to all.

Started out my New Year by taking Bernie and Randy from Asheboro fishing the flats this morning looking for some more redfish. Weather was beautiful, water was fairly warm, and yes there were a few fish.

Started out slow, but these two guys just love to fish and they pounded the water hard. They worked on tuning up their cast as well as trying to learn the difference between a redfish bite and an oyster bite. Before long, they were hitting the points and pockets like pros!!

Well, Randy, finally hooked a very nice fish. Too nice in fact due to the fact that it broke the rod tip while he was hooked up. I tried to hand line the fish in, but in the end, he just wasn't going to be the first catch of 2006. This fish definitely had some shoulders on him.

Not to be outdone, Bernie ended up hooking and landing a fish that was just under the slot.



We had a few other opportunities, but the fish just didn't want to cooperate today.

These two guys were great to fish with. Randy, hopefully Bernie doesn't rag you all the way home about that one that got away. Thanks for a great first trip of the year!!!

Don't forget about the winter special that will be running until the first of April, as long as the fish continue to cooperate.
