Default Back from Surf City

Just got back, stayed about 1 1/2 weeks. Fished from the Surf City Pier of course.
Caught my limit of Spanish 1 day, most of the ones we saw, were in the 12-15 inch range. Did catch one about 20 inches right before I pulled up the King Rig yesterday afternoon. Only one King was caught, and that was Saturday. Blues were in and out, maybe once an hour, you'd have a little 5 minute run. Had a King swipe at my bait Tuesday, but no hook up. I did catch a 28 inch Cobia, with a Peanut Pogie slid to the bottom, on my bait rod, he was a hand full, but, got him in the net, hook out, and released him.
Monday, started seeing a few "Bar Jacks", and some nice Spadefish hanging around the Jelly Balls.
Saw a Cuda, 15-20 lbs., in a shallow hole, on the North side of the pier, in the Surf early Monday........later, a fellow King fisherman, hooked up with one about the same size, but lost him around a submerged pylon, from the old pier.
All in all, ended up with maybe 30 Spanish, no King or keeper Cobia. Weather was hot, but, at least there was a breeze to make it bearable. Water stayed murky most of the time, with the mud line about 100 yards out in front of the pier, so, the water conditions weren't favorable for the big fish.
Add in a couple of Sea Turtle sightings (1 Leatherback, 2 Loggerheads) and that was the extent of my trip.
