The Puppy Drum are hot right now in the river. I went out Monday, despite the northeast windblowing 25 Knots, and did very well on live shrimp. The fish were running anywhere from 12in to 9lbs. There were a few small trout mixed in as well. All of the action was up in the creeks. I'm going to hit Surf City and the inlet at South Topsail today if I can drag someone out of bed to go along with me. Anyone from this area e-mail me, always looking for someone to go.
