No spanish-but big bass

I had heard that the spanish had started coming in so I tried trolling clark spoons out of Shalotte Inlet on Friday (25th), not a strike, not even a blue. Came back home to Cheraw SC the next day and in a farm pond caught an 8lb bass on a beatlespin no less.
