Fishing on the Outer Banks

Slowing, but surely, the fishing is getting better. Red Drum and Trout are
showing up in fair numbers. The biggest problem is the water temperature. Its starts
to warm and then the wind switches, so it goes back to cold. The Cobia should
be arriving anytime, but again it’s up to the water temperature. Schoolie size Striped Bass are still hanging around and depending on the tide either bite well or not at all. The small Bluefish showed up in goods numbers and are always fun to catch. Usually
the Spanish Mackerel are not far behind. When the water warms another 5-10
degrees, the fishing will the going crazy. Just call in sick and go fishing.
