Fished the Perquimans River on Saturday morning. The river was slick as glass. We got out at about 7:00 am and called it quits at 11 am. Water temp: 70-71.
We tried trolling for rock when we first got out, picked up a few smaller ones. Then we started to notice stripers boiling to the top nearby. Once over there I started using a Lew's Speed Lure topwater bait, and the guy that was with me tried his luck with the Rapala X-Rap 12.
They both produced fish, but theres nothing like seeing those stripers follow and then attack that topwater bait. I wish I could've got a better picture of the stripers hitting topwater but I was too busy fishing.

Some of the areas were huge.
All in all we took in 5 keepers and had to throw back 23.
